This is not your average banana bread! After making the same banana bread recipe every other week for about 4 years straight, I finally decided to branch out a bit and concoct a new spin on it. (When it comes to banana bread, I get in the “If its not broken, don’t fix it ” kind of mindset) And I’m so glad I did! This is a new favorite in our home and I am so happy to share it with you!
The best part? Its insanely easy to make and it doesn’t require any strange ingredients or baking supplies. And the OTHER best part? Its 100% vegan! (Duh)
Let’s get to it!
This banana bread base recipe is so incredibly easy! That’s why I make it just about every other week! Just mash three medium sized bananas with a potato masher and add sugar, coconut oil and vanilla extract. Once that is combined, add in your dairy free milk and apple cider vinegar. In the same bowl, toss in your flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until just combined and your banana bread base is done!
To create the “cinnamon roll” part, just add mashed banana, brown sugar and cinnamon together in a medium sized bowl.
Assembly time! In a lightly greased loaf tin, pour in half of your banana bread base batter. Next, pour in half of your cinnamon roll batter and either spread it evenly on top of the banana bread batter or, using a toothpick, swirl the batter. Next, layer the other half of the banana bread batter on top and FINALLY pour the last half of the cinnamon roll batter on top and swirl with a toothpick.
Bake for 60-70 minutes at 350. As always, insert a skewer into the center of the loaf, and if it comes out clean, your treat is all done!

Cinnamon Roll Banana Bread
Ingredients
Banana Bread
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 1/2 Cups Mashed Banana approx. 3 medium bananas
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil refined, melted
- 1/4 Cup Dairy Free Milk unsweetened
- 1 Tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
Cinnamon Swirl
- 1/4 Cup Mashed Banana
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Cinnamon
Cinnamon Vanilla Glaze
- 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
- Almond Milk start with a small splash, add more if needed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9x5x2in loaf pan and set aside
- In a medium size bowl, combine all ingredients for cinnamon swirl. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas with a fork or potato masher and add sugar, coconut oil and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in dairy free milk of your choice and apple cider vinegar.
- Add flour, baking soda and salt and mix just until fully combined.
- Divide batter in half. Fill your loaf pan with first half of batter. Pour half of cinnamon swirl batter on top and spread evenly with a spatula or swirl with a toothpick. Pour the other half of the banana bread batter on top of cinnamon swirl layer.
- To finish, pour the last half of cinnamon swirl batter on top and spread evenly or swirl with a toothpick.
- Bake for 60 – 70 minutes.
- While loaf is cooling, mix together ingredients for the vanilla glaze.
- Once the loaf is almost cooled completely, drizzle your desired amount of glaze over the top.
